Secure fit for my 10 inch Android tablet. The vent clip hook is made of metal and latches to the vent clip for a secure fit. Once the hook has grabbed a fin of the vent, any further tightening results in a ratcheting movement to prevent over tightening. The spring loaded mount is attached via a swivel ball mount to allow further adjustability. Even with the weight of the tablet, the mount is secure and doesn’t sag in the vent location.

This air vent tablet mount is built very well. The hook that attaches to your vent vanes is made of metal and has a wratchet that prevents overtightening, which would damage your vent vane.

I used this mount with a 7-inch Amazon Kindle Fire and it held it perfectly. I have had other so called vent mounts and they withered in application. This mount, however, allows you to tighten the mount where the other mounts would wilt.

I’m glad I got this air vent tablet mount. It is over-built for the task it’s to do.

    And that’s a good thing.

The design of this tablet mount is OK in theory, but doesn’t work very well. The clip fits in around one of your vents and has a downwards hook that latches behind the vent to hold the weight of the tablet. You can adjust the length of the clip. However, once a tablet is mounted onto the clip, the weight is too heavy and slips out, detaches or the vents get pulled downwards, at least in my vehicle.

The clip has a ball joint that snaps into the tablet mount piece so you can swivel and position it correctly once installed. I tried a 7″ tablet which worked quite well, but using a 10″ tablet, I found it too heavy for this mounting system unfortunately. It is also quite unstable while driving and the tablet sticks out a bit too far towards the driver. The tablet will bounce around quite a bit during regular driving and it never quite feels stable enough.

Definitely an option if you want a basic, easy way to mount a tablet in your vehicle, but there are better, more stable options in the market.

NOTE: This will not work if you have round vents in your vehicle. Your air vents must be as square shaped as possible in order for the hook to properly fit around the inside of the vents. Even in my vehicle with very square shaped vents, it doesn’t feel sturdy enough and slides out even when tightened due to the movement of the vehicle.

This holds my zfold 4 in the open position perfectly.

Holds securely to the vent. Holds smaller and larger devices as needed.
